Box Score GREENSBORO, NC--- Guilford topped Randolph-Macon, 3-1 Saturday evening in men's soccer action. The Yellow Jackets fell to 3-3-2, 2-1-2 in conference action, while the Quakers improved to 4-4-2, 1-2 in ODAC-play.
The loss was the first in the last four contests for R-MC and their first in conference play.
With just under seven minutes remaining in the first half, Ronnie Castellanos gave GC the lead for good on an unassisted goal.
Guilford got two goals within 10 minutes to put the game away for good in the second stanza. In the 68th minute Richard Page found Freddy Gomez to give the Quakers a two goal advantage. Minutes later, Eto'O Kemda-Kemtsop found the back of the net off a feed from Castellanos.
With under eight minutes to play, Randolph-Macon got on the board off an own goal from Guilford, when the ball deflected off goalkeeper Peter Truitt.
Tyler Cornelio led the Yellow Jackets with three shots, two on goal. Castellanos paced the Quakers with four shots on the evening.
Matty Rocawich lost his first ODAC game in goal, recording four saves in 90 minutes played. Truitt picked up his first conference victory, totaling six saves.
Guilford outshot Randolph-Macon 15-14 in the contest. Both teams were tied with seven shots on goal each. R-MC held a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.
The Yellow Jackets return to action Wednesday, October 5th as they host Averett. Kick-off is set for a 4:30 p.m. start.
