Box Score ROANOKE, VA -- Jordan Cantrell scored a game high 17 points and freshman Lindsay Sharman chipped in with 14 as Randolph-Macon Women's Basketball (10-4 / 8-1 ODAC) picked up an 84-56 win at Hollins Saturday. The Jackets have now won eight consecutive ODAC games and sit atop the conference standings.
Hollins took an early 6-4 lead on a Tamara Phillips three pointer two minutes into the contest but Randolph-Macon's Katie Williams answered with two foul shots to tie it at 6-6.
The Jackets then went on an 18-3 run sparked by a Maggie Roy jumper with 15:27 on the clock and capped by a Christina Phelps jumper eight minutes later.
Sharman dropped in a two with just over two minutes to play to give R-MC their biggest lead of the first half at 39-18 before heading into halftime with a 43-25 advantage.
Randolph-Macon started the second half with a 9-0 burst finished off with two free throws from Roy to go up 52-25.
Hollins answered with a 9-1 run to pull within 19 but a Cantrell three ended the threat and put R-MC up 56-34.
The Yellow Jackets led by as many as 35 in the second half before finishing off Hollins 84-56.
Cantrell knocked down 4-of-5 trifectas to lead all scorers with 17 points. Sharman finished with 14 points and Roy tallied 12 points and eight boards. Junior Taylor Wieczorek chipped in with seven points and collected seven rebounds. Every Yellow Jacket on the active roster registered points and double digit minutes.
Lacie Forrest paced Hollins with 13 points and four assists while Phillips joined her in double figures with 11.
Randolph-Macon held a 47-33 rebounding edge and shot 43.6% from the field including a 7-for-15 mark from three.
R-MC returns to action Tuesday, January 18th when they host Randolph College at 7:00.
