Box Score Randolph-Macon Men's soccer held Mary Washington scoreless for
over 89 minutes but Ryan Taibl headed in Jae Park's pass to push
the Eagles past the Jackets 1-0 in Ashland Wednesday.
Keeper Matty Rocawich and
the R-MC defense held UMW in check throughout the first half
allowing the Yellow Jackets to make several offensive runs.
Rocawich tallied three saves for the game.
R-MC's Rodrigo Walsh and
Fernando Rochi fired shots on goal in the second half but Eagles'
keeper Alec Constantine stopped both shots.
With under a minute to play Mary Washington's Park took a free
kick deep in Randolph-Macon territory which was then headed into
the goal by Taibl with 33 seconds remaining.
The Eagles held a 9-7 advantage in shots and also edged the
Jackets 6-3 in corner kicks.
Randolph-Macon will be back in action Saturday, September
11th when they host Washington College at 2:30 as part
of the Randolph-Macon Select Tournament.
