Box Score ASHLAND, VA – The Randolph-Macon Men's Soccer Team notched
its first win of the 2010 season with a 2-0 victory over visiting
Marymount University.
R-MC is now 1-1-0 on the season, while Marymount drops to 1-1-0
as well.
The Yellow Jackets got on the board in the 24th minute of play
when Rodrigo
Walsh's left-footed shot, bounded off the hands of MU keeper
William Brahmstandt and into the back of the net.
The game remained a back and forth affair, with R-MC holding the
slim lead, before Walsh set up Fernando Rocci on
crossing pass that Rocci one-timed into the goal, putting the
Jackets up 2-0.
R-MC outshot MU 12-9, while the Saints held the edge in corner
kicks 4-3. Jackets' keeper Matt Rocawich earned the shutout after
making four saves, while Bramstant made five stops on the day.
Randolph-Macon will be back in action on Wednesday when it hosts
Mary Washington at 4:30 p.m.
