Box Score Senior Midfielder Mike Urbanik found
goal just 30 seconds into overtime to give the Yellow Jackets a 2-1
win over Ferrum on Sunday in Ashland. Urbanik netted both R-MC
goals and was named Randolph-Macon Select Tournament MVP.
After a scoreless half of play, Urbanik put the Yellow Jackets
on the board after beating the keeper for a goal in the
62nd minute.
The Ferrum offense was held in check until the final minute when
Aaron Gustine found the back of the net to force overtime.
Randolph-Macon won the overtime face off and immediately
advanced into the Panthers territory. Freshman Tommy Fisher found
the open Urbanik who buried a shot into the goal, giving the Yellow
Jackets a 2-1 victory.
Five R-MC players made the All-Tournament team including Urbanik
who was named tournament MVP. Ethan Cornelio, David Lynch, Andrew Parham
and Tommy Fisher joined Urbanik as All-Tournament players.
Randolph-Macon finishes the tournament as the lone undefeated
team at 2-0.
The Yellow Jackets will be back in action Saturday, September
18th when they host Guilford College at 3:00.
