Box Score ROANOKE, VA-Molly Brown dropped in a team high 19 points to lead
five Yellow Jackets in double figure scoring as Randolph-Macon
defeated Hollins University 104-47 in Roanoke Thursday night.
R-MC (16-5 / 14-3 ODAC) scored the first 11 points of the
contest starting with a three from freshman Jordan Cantrell
(Washington, NC/ Washington) and finished off by a Maggie Roy
(Richmond, VA/ Mills Godwin) jumper with 16:40 left in the first
half.
The Yellow Jackets continued their offensive attack throughout
the first half with 56.8% shooting from the field and a 9-of-13
mark from three. R-MC went up by 37 when Madison Dulaney
(Kernersville, NC/ Glenn) knocked down a three with 3:10 to go in
the first.
Hollins cut the Randolph-Macon advantage to 56-25 at halftime
when Tamara Phillips converted an old fashioned three point play
just before intermission.
Roy opened up the second half with a three to spark a 17-1 R-MC
run later capped by a Taylor Wieczorek (Grasonville, MD/ Severn)
jumper with 14:12 to go, putting the Yellow Jackets up 73-26.
Randolph-Macon kept up the hot shooting for the remainder of the
game and pulled away for the 104-47 victory.
Every R-MC player notched the scoring column led by Brown
(Floyd, VA/ Floyd County) with 19 points. Senior Molly Ariail
(York, PA/ York Suburban) notched her 13th double-double
of the season with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Cantrell scored
a career high 16 points in her first career start, Roy and
Wieczorek finished with 14 and 12 points respectively.
Phillips led a trio of Hollins players in double figures with 14
points. Jasmine Greene and Lacie Forrest chipped in with 13 and 14
points respectively.
Randolph-Macon Women's Basketball will travel to Washington and
Lee Saturday, February 13th for a 2:00 p.m. game.
