Hot Shooting Randolph-Macon Uses Balanced Attack in
86-68 Quarterfinal Win over EMU

SALEM- VA -- Amanda Hiltunen led four Yellow Jackets with 18
points as second-seeded Randolph-Macon knocked off Eastern
Mennonite University 86-68 in the quarterfinals of the 2009 Old
Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament in Salem, Va.
R-MC (21-5) also got 16 points and a game-high eight rebounds
from Lindsay Riesbeck, while reigning ODAC Player of the Year Molly
Arial scored 12 points and Maggie Roy chipped in with 11 tallies
off the bench.
EMU finishes the season with a 13-13 over record. Brittany
Snyder led the way for the Royals with a team-best 14 points. Addie
Bashorun had 13 points, while Danielle Scottt and Melissa Lews each
had 12 in the loss.
The Yellow Jackets made 20-of-42 shots in the first half to take
a 45-25 advantage into the locker room at intermission.
R-MC came out in the second stanza and scored 12 of the first 15
points, opening up a 57-28 edge on a trifecta by Hiltunen with
16:38 to go in the game.
The Royals attempted to chip away, managing to cut the R-MC lead
to 75-57 with 7:13 remaining. The Yellow Jackets scored the next
six points and sealed the game on a three-pointer by Roy with just
under six minutes to play.
Randolph-Macon will take on either No.3 Virginia
Wesleyan or No. 6 Guilford on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in the
tournament semifinals.
