Yellow Jackets Fly Past Generals 79-70
Ashland, Va. - Four players scored in double digits for
Randolph-Macon as the Yellow Jackets defeated Washington & Lee
79-70 on Saturday. Randolph-Macon improves to 18-5 (15-3 ODAC)
while the Generals fall to 12-10 (11-6 ODAC).
W & L tied the game 56-56 with 9:46 remaining in the
second half. The Yellow Jackets responded by scoring nine of the
next 11 points, taking a 65-58 lead with 7:19 remaining. Katie
Williams netted all 11 of her points in the second half to help
R-MC pull away and seal the victory.
Molly Ariail netted 22 points and pulled down seven
rebounds, while Amanda Hiltunen tallied 15 points and seven
assists. Williams and Maggie Roy each registered 11. Washington
& Lee's Rebecca Bolton matched Ariail's 22 points, while Meghan
Ingram posted 16.
R-MC returns to action on Friday, February 20 at Guilford.
Game time is set for 7 PM. The Yellow Jackets close out the regular
season on Saturday at Emory & Henry.
