Roanoke Scores Two First Half Goals to Get By R-MC

ASHLAND, VA-Randolph-Macon Men's Soccer gave up
two early goals before the defense clamped down on Roanoke's attack
in Ashland Saturday. The Yellow Jackets could not rally late and
fell to the ODAC leading Maroons 2-0.
Taylor Johnston headed in a corner kick in the ninth minute to
give Roanoke an early 1-0 advantage.
The Maroons were able to tack on a second goal in the
33rd minute off the foot of Chris Collins.
R-MC's defense stepped up and held Roanoke scoreless for the
remainder of the match.
Randolph-Macon made several late offensive charges but could not
find the back of the net and the Maroons took the match 2-0.
Roanoke outshot R-MC 18-8 and held a 12-2 corner kick advantage.
The Yellow Jackets will be back in action Tuesday, October
6th, when they host Bridgewater College for a 4:00 p.m.
match.
