Ariail Scores 1,000th Career Point; R-MC Falls Short of

Lexington, Va. - R-MC's Molly Ariail scored a
game-high 24 points, including her 1,000th career tally, but
Washington & Lee's Kara Nadeau converted a free throw with six
seconds remaining to lift the Generals over the Yellow Jackets
67-66 on Sunday afternoon in Lexington.
The Generals jumped out to an early 16-6 lead and widened the gap
to as many as 18 points in the first half before entering the break
with a 39-23 lead.
The Yellow Jackets began chipping away at the Generals' half-time
advantage, pulling within eight points with 12:08 remaining in
regulation. R-MC outscored the Generals 14-2 down the stretch to
tie the game at 66-66 with 47 seconds remaining. However, Nadeau
connected on the first foul shot before missing the second. A
Washington & Lee offensive rebound secured the Generals'
victory.
In addition to her 24 points, Ariail also led R-MC with 14 rebounds
and three blocks. Amanda Hiltunen added 14 points and a team-high
four steals.
The Yellow Jackets return to action on Tuesday when they host
Randolph College at 7:00 PM.
