R-MC Downs Hollins 102-48 in ODAC Women's Hoops Action

Roanoke, Va. - Four Yellow Jackets scored in double figures as R-MC defeated Hollins 102-48 on Saturday. Junior Molly Ariail led the Yellow Jackets scoring attack, shooting 6-for-7 from the field for 16 points.

R-MC outscored Hollins 56-22 in the first half. The Yellow Jacket defense held Hollins to 33% shooting from the field in the first twenty minutes, while R-MC shot 58% in the first stanza. The Yellow Jackets continued to control the game after halftime, outscoring Hollins 46-26 after the break.

Every R-MC player logged at least 14 minutes. Senior Amanda Hiltunen dished eight assists, grabbed three steals, and tallied nine points. Sophomore Katie Williams registered 12 points. Freshmen Jillian Asay and Maggie Roy scored 11 and 13 points, respectively. Taylor Wieczorek led the Yellow Jackets with seven rebounds.

R-MC brings its three-game winning streak to Crenshaw Gymnasium on Friday night when the Yellow Jackets host Guilford at 7:00. Emory & Henry visits Ashland on Saturday. Game time is slated for 4:00.
