Five Yellow Jackets Score in Double Figures as R-MC Defeats Bridgewater 90-74

Ashland, Va. - Five R-MC players scored at least ten points and Molly Ariail registered a double-double as the Yellow Jackets downed Bridgewater 90-74 on Saturday. After R-MC shot out to a 27 point-lead late in the first half, the Eagles clawed their way back into the game, but could not pull within fewer than 9 points.

 The Yellow Jackets established a 46-19 lead after Amanda Hiltunen drained a 3-pointer with 2:51 remaining in the first half. However, Bridgewater ended the period on a 10-3 run to enter halftime trailing 49-31. The Eagles continued to cut down the Yellow Jacket lead, pulling within 9 points with 12:11 remaining in the half. R-MC's Katie Williams responded by nailing a 3-pointer to calm the Bridgewater comeback. The Yellow Jackets outscored Bridgewater 21-14 in the final 7 minutes to seal the victory.

 Ariail shot well and controlled the paint, leading all players with 22 points and 15 rebounds. R-MC's Maggie Roy and Hiltunen each netted 15 points, Lindsay Riesbeck downed 12, and Jillian Asay scored 10 to power the Yellow Jackets past the Eagles.

 Randolph-Macon returns to action on December 29 and 30 as the Yellow Jackets travel to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands to take on Cabrini and Mary Washington.
