Men's Basketball History

On February 11, 2023, RMC won their 61st consecutive home game in Crenshaw Gym with a 69-50 victory over ODAC rival Roanoke on Senior Day, tying the Division III record. In the first round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament against Wilson, the Yellow Jackets blew out the Phoenix 73-36 to break the Division III record for longest home winning streak with 62, breaking North Park's previous record of that was set in 1988. RMC broke the program record for consecutive home wins on March 14, 2021, defeating Trine in a #1 vs. #2 matchup to end the shortened season, capturing their 33rd straight home win. The previous program record for consecutive home wins was 32, set from 1983-86. The Yellow Jackets won the final two games in the 1982-83 season, went 13-0 in 1983-84, were 11-0 in 1984-85 and won the first six games in the 1985-86 season.

Heading into the 2024-25 season, Randolph-Macon is 634-132 all-time in Crenshaw Gym since the debut of the arena in the 1964-65 season. The first ever win in Crenshaw Gym came as a 95-33 thrashing of Lynchburg on December 1, 1964.

Women's Basketball History

Randolph-Macon Women's Basketball played their first game in Crenshaw Gym in their inaugural year of 1975-76 under head coach Billy Wood. The Yellow Jackets have boasted a home record of 394-150 for a winning percentage of .724 inside Crenshaw Gym. RMC has been perfect at home three times, going 13-0 at home in 1994-95, 14-0 in 2013-14, and 4-0 in the shortened 2020-21 season.

The facility has played host to 13 NCAA Tournament games in which RMC has gone 9-4 in those contests. In 2005, RMC punched their ticket to their first ever Final Four by defeating George Fox 63-51 inside Crenshaw Gym. They would later move on to the National Championship Game where they fell to Millikin. Legendary head coach Carroll LaHaye led the Yellow Jackets from 1982-2020, totaling 647 wins in her time with the Lemon and Black.

Women's Volleyball History

Since the team’s inaugural season in 1995, Crenshaw Gym has been the home of women’s volleyball, one of the more successful programs at RMC. The Yellow Jackets have won seven ODAC tournament titles since 2009 and reached the NCAA quarterfinals in 2015. Under the direction of Bill Rogers, RMC has boasted a winning record in 21 of his 22 seasons at the helm

The home court has been good to RMC, as the Yellow Jackets rode a 24-match winning streak from Oct. 11, 2010 to Sept. 7, 2013. The streak started right after a streak of 22 matches was broken.

On September 14, 2016, RMC defeated Hollins 3-0 in Crenshaw Gym, beginning a streak of 19 consecutive home wins spanning until 2018. The streak included a perfect 11-0 record at home in 2017.
