MK Geratowski is in her 13th season as head coach of the Yellow Jacket women's lacrosse program in 2026. She holds positions as the Assistant Athletic Director and the Senior Woman Administrator for the RMC Athletic Department handling all NCAA Compliance. In her twelve seasons in Ashland, Geratowski has led the Yellow Jackets to 125 wins, 70 of those in conference. The winningest coach in program history, she has tied the program record for wins in a season 3 times (2025, 2024, and 2015). She has won a play off game in every season she has been at the helm, including 5 trips to the conference championship. She has coached 64 All-ODAC players, including three Rookies of the Year and two Scholar-Athletes of the Year. Geratowski has mentored 19 IWLCA All-Region selections, and in 2017 Kristin Patrick ‘17 was named the IWLCA Division III Scholar-Athlete of the Year nationally. In 2015, the Yellow Jackets tied the RMC record for wins in a season with 14 and Geratowski was selected as the ODAC, VaSID, and RMC Hugh Stephens Coach of the Year.

In 2025, the Lemon and Black ended the season with a 14-5 (8-2) record overall, tying the program record for wins in a season for the 3rd time in her career. Randolph-Macon has been to three straight conference semifinals games under the leadership of Geratowski. The team had its biggest win of the season in non-conference play, taking down nearby rival and nationally ranked Christopher Newport for the first time since the 2015 season. The highlighted wins from the conference slate were defeating Shenandoah in double overtime on Day Field, taking down the Hornets for the first time since the 2019 season. Randolph-Macon also had two close victories with historical powerhouse and rival Lynchburg, once in the regular season and the other in the conference quarterfinals. In 2025 she coached six All-ODAC Players, two All-Region Players and three were named to All-State teams. In 2024, she reached her 100th win in the game against McDaniel on the road. Geratowski also led the Yellow Jackets to the program’s first win over Mary Washington since 1998, and first road win against them since 1981. Geratowski and the Yellow Jackets went 14-6 on the season and 6-3 in conference play, tying the program record for wins in a season. Geratowski continued her post-season success by leading the team to the semifinals of the ODAC tournament, winning two games along the way. In 2024 she coached six All-ODAC Players, two of them on the first team and four on the second team.

Under Geratowski’s leadership, the Yellow Jackets have been awarded off the field as well. The team has been an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad in each year that the award has been presented since her arrival in Ashland, as well as having numerous members of the team named to the ODAC All-Academic team and IWLCA Honor Roll. The team has also been the recipient of the IWLCA Team Community Awareness Award in 2014, 2015, and 2021, as

well as the Randolph-Macon Athletics Community Service Award in 2022 and 2024 for their work in the community.

Geratowski’s Yellow Jackets have also printed their names in the RMC record books during her tenure. In 2018 Alex Lightfoot ‘18 broke the record for career assists with 169. She also holds the number two and number 4 spots in the record book for assists in a season with 59 and 49 respectively. Many of those assists were sent to Alicia Hsieh ‘18 who holds the number three spot for career points with 299, the number two spot for career goals with 255, and the number two spot for goals in a season with 74. The top five for career draw controls are all held by players who were mentored by Geratowski with Jenelle Whitman ’16 holding the top spot with 374. Whitman also holds the top two spots for draw controls in a season with 145 and 107 respectively. On the defensive side of the ball, Susie Snee ’17, the 2017 Susan DeNagy award winner for top female student-athlete at RMC, holds the number two spot for career caused turnovers with 92 as well as the number two spot for career draw controls with 253.

Prior to her arrival in Ashland, Geratowski spent three seasons as an assistant coach in the Commonwealth of Virginia. In 2013, she was the offensive and recruiting coordinator at the College of William and Mary. The previous year, Geratowski served as offensive coordinator at in conference rival, Washington and Lee University. For the 2011 campaign, she worked as a defensive assistant at the University of Richmond. During the 2010 season, Geratowski was the defensive coordinator at Connecticut College. Prior to her collegiate coaching career, Geratowski spent a year abroad coaching at a girl’s private school in Preston, England.

Geratowski has stepped out of her coaching role both nationally and on campus, serving as the tournament director for the NCAA Division III Women’s Lacrosse Championship on Day Field in 2019. She also served as the tournament director for the NCAA Division III Ashland Softball Regionals in 2017 and 2022. She served as the chair of the NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Committee for the 2022-23 academic year, a committee she was a part of since 2019. Geratowski also served as a member of the IWLCA Board of Directors from 2018 to 2021 and the NCAA Regional Advisory Committee from 2016-2019.

A four-year standout at Elmira College in both lacrosse and ice hockey, Geratowski was a member of the All-Sportsmanship Team in the Empire 8 for lacrosse in 2008 as well as serving as a team captain and being named team MVP. As a member of the nationally ranked ice hockey team, Geratowski won the Coach’s Award in 2005-06 and served as a student assistant coach in 2007-08 helping her team to two ECAC Championships and three NCAA appearances, including two trips to the Frozen Four.

In 2008, Geratowski earned a Bachelor of Science in English Literature and Secondary Education from Elmira. She earned a Master of Education in Sports Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2011, serving on the alumni board from 2017-2019.

Geratowski resides in Mechanicsville, VA with her husband, Penn Stephenson, and their daughter, Riley.
