  • Three Volleyball Yellow Jackets Honored As All-State Players
    December 12, 2017
    Three Yellow Jackets were named as All-State student-athletes in the college volleyball division it was announced Tuesday by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID). Senior libero Samantha Sallade (Newport News, Va. / Peninsula Catholic) and sophomore outside hitter Miranda Hall (Mechanicsville, Va. / Hanover) were named to the All-State First Team, while senior setter Erin Quinn (Morrisville, N.C. / Cardinal Gibbons) was named to the All-State Second Team. Randolph-Macon led the state in total selections with three, alongside Christopher Newport University who also put three on the list. The selections are made by media relations professionals working at institutions or conferences in Virginia and are administered by VaSID.
  • Randolph-Macon Volleyball Programs Announce Summer Camp Dates

    The Randolph-Macon Volleyball programs have announced summer 2018 camp dates and information for interested young players. It is the first year that R-MC will host boys specific camps as part of its summer volleyball programs.

    In head coach Bill Rogers’ 16th season, Randolph-Macon women’s volleyball continued the success it’s seen since he took over the program. Finishing the season at 23-7, the team accomplished more unbelievable feats in 2017 than ever before.
  • Quinn Named To Academic Honor Squad

    Women’s Volleyball senior Erin Quinn (Morrisville, N.C. / Cardinal Gibbons) has been recognized as an athletic and academic scholar. Quinn was named to the The 2017 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® Volleyball Team, which recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Quinn will also appear on the ballot for the national Academic All-American team.
  • Hall Named All-American; Clark Receives Honorable Mention Honors

    Sophomore Miranda Hall (Mechanicsville, Va./Hanover) has been named an All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. The All-American teams are selected by the nation’s head coaches in voting conducted earlier this week. Hall was selected to the AVCA Third Team – the third Yellow Jacket in a row to garner such an honor after Courtney Lowers in 2015 and senior Erin Quinn (Morrisville, N.C. / Cardinal Gibbons) in 2016. Junior Mariah Clark (Stuarts Draft, Va./Riverheads)) was also named an Honorable Mention All-American.
  • #4 Randolph-Macon Falls To #5 Swarthmore In NCAA Tournament

    Randolph-Macon came in ranked as the #4 seed in the Owings Mills Regional, but failed to overcome their opponent, the #5 seeded Swarthmore Garnet. The loss ends Randolph-Macon’s 2017 campaign with a 24-6 overall record.
  • Three Yellow Jackets Earn AVCA Recognition

    Three Yellow Jackets will enter the NCAA Tournament with All-AVCA Honors under their belts. Junior Mariah Clark (Stuarts Draft/Riverheads) and sophomore Miranda Hall (Mechanicsville, Va./Hanover) were named to the AVCA All-South Region Team while senior Samantha Sallade () was named to the AVCA All-South Region Honorable Mention team. The South Region is made up of teams from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, Southern Athletic Association, USA South Athletic Conference and the University Athletic Association.

    Randolph-Macon women’s volleyball finishes heads into the tournament ranked third in the South Region rankings. It’s the highest ranking for the team in 2017.
  • Randolph-Macon Draws Swarthmore In First Round

    Randolph-Macon women’s volleyball now knows where it will travel to play in the 2017 NCAA Tournament – Owings Mills, Maryland. It will face Swarthmore in the first round with the time and date to be announced later. The first three rounds of the NCAA Tournament are set to take place between Thursday, November 9 and Sunday November 12.
  • Volleyball Wins Third Straight Conference Title, Beat W&L 3-2

    On their home floor, the Randolph-Macon Yellow Jackets won their third ODAC Tournament title in as many years Saturday afternoon, beating Washington & Lee 3-2 (20-25, 25-18, 22-25, 25-20, 16-14) in a hard fought match on both sides. In addition to being the third in a row, it’s Randolph-Macon’s sixth Tournament title in program history.
  • Hall, Rogers Pick Up ODAC Top Honors; Four Other Named To All-ODAC Teams

    The Yellow Jackets’ sophomore outside hitter Miranda Hall (Mechanicsville, Va./Hanover) was selected as the Old Dominion Athletic Conferences’ Player of the Year, as announced by the league office and voted on by the ODAC’s coaches. The recognition follows a 2016 freshman season in which she was named the league’s Rookie of the Year.
  • Quinn Helps #1 R-MC Volleyball Reach ODAC Title Match

    Senior Erin Quinn (Morrisville, N.C./Cardinal Gibbons) led all players with 19 assists and added eight digs as the top-seeded Randolph-Macon volleyball team defeated fifth-seeded Lynchburg 3-0 Friday evening in the semifinals of the 2017 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament in Crenshaw Gym.
  • Wolfe Leads #1 R-MC Volleyball to 3-0 Sweep of #8 EMU in ODAC Quarterfinals

    Sophomore Alexia Wolfe (Midlothian, Va./James River) recorded seven kills, 19 total attacks, four digs and two block assists as the top-seeded Randolph-Macon volleyball team downed eighth-seeded Eastern Mennonite 3-0 in the quarterfinals of the 2017 ODAC Tournament Wednesday evening in Crenshaw Gym.
  • Third Time’s A Charm For Hall, Named Player of the Week in ODAC

    For the third time this season, sophomore Miranda Hall (Mechanicsville, Va./Hanover) has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conferences’ Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. Hall also won the honor for the weeks ending on September 25 and October 16.
  • Birmingham Southern Gets The Best Of Women’s Volleyball 3-0; Clark & Hall named to All-Tournament Team

    Senior Rebecca McGilvery (Warrenton, Va. / Kettle Run) and sophomore Alexia Wolfe (Midlothian, Va. / James River) each had ten kills, but it was not enough for the Yellow Jackets in their match with Birmingham Southern as R-MC lost 3-0 (26-24, 25-23, 25-19). BSC (18-7, 11-3 SAA) shot .215 on the match while R-MC shot .133 on the afternoon.
  • McGilvery is Masterful as R-MC Volleyball Blanks No. 24 Berry

    Senior Rebecca McGilvery (Warrenton, Va./Kettle Run) recorded 11 kills, 28 total attacks and 15 digs as the Randolph-Macon volleyball swept 24th-ranked Berry 3-0 this afternoon at the Emory National Invitational.
  • Randolph-Macon Takes #8 Emory to Five Sets

    Randolph-Macon took the first and fourth sets while #8 Emory took sets two and three, but the deciding set went to the hosts as R-MC dropped just its fifth game of 2017, 3-2 (25-20, 18-25,  21-25, 25-17, 6-15). R-MC is now 20-5 overall on the season. Emory (23-5) is ranked second in the region, while R-MC checks in at fourth.
  • UPDATE: Time Set for ODAC Tournament Quarterfinal Match

    With three seasons of undefeated conference play under their belts – regular season or conference tournaments – Randolph-Macon women’s volleyball heads into the ODAC Tournament as the #1 seed as announced by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Friday evening. The team will take on the #8 seed, Eastern Mennonite, on Wednesday, November 1 at 7:00 PM
  • Volleyball 4th In Region, Receives Votes In National Poll

    Randolph-Macon’s volleyball program ranks 4th in a set of regional rankings released by the NCAA Wednesday. It’s the second straight week R-MC has found itself in the top five in the South Region, having been ranked 4th last week as well.
  • McGilvery Guides R-MC Volleyball to 3-0 Win over VWU

    Senior Rebecca McGilvery (Warrenton, Va./Kettle Run) led all players with 16 digs and was second with nine kills and 27 total attacks on Senior Night as the Randolph-Macon volleyball team posted a 3-0 victory over Virginia Wesleyan in ODAC action Tuesday evening in Crenshaw Gym.
  • Sallade Tops ODAC Record Books For Career Digs
    October 22, 2017
    Senior Samantha Sallade (Newport News, Va. / Peninsula Catholic) rose to first place in Old Dominion Athletic Conference history for digs in a career after tallying 20 digs in the match against Emory & Henry on Saturday. She now has 1,989 digs in her career, 15 more than the previous record-holder Twyla Sessor of Emory & Henry. Sessor played from 2006-2009.
  • Clark, Wolfe Kill Double Digits In Win Over E&H

    Junior Mariah Clark (Stuarts Draft, Va./Riverheads) and sophomore Alexia Wolfe (Midlothian, Va. / James River) killed volleys in the double-digits as Randolph-Macon moved to 18-4 on the season and 10-0 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play with a 3-0 win over Emory & Henry (25-12, 25-18, 25-22). The Wasps dropped to 5-21 and 2-8 in the ODAC.
  • Service Key For R-MC in 3-0 Win Over Quakers

    Four different Yellow Jackets scored service aces over the visiting Guilford Quakers Friday night as Randolph-Macon pushed forward to 17-4 on the season and 9-0 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. Guilford fell to 11-8 and 4-4 in the ODAC.

    Senior Samantha Sallade (Newport News, Va./Peninsula Catholic) paced the victors with 26 digs, including 10 in the first and third games, as the Randolph-Macon volleyball team swept Bridgewater 3-0 Wednesday evening in ODAC action in Crenshaw Gym.
  • Hall Garners Second Player of the Week Honors

    There was just one match on last week’s schedule for women’s volleyball – but it was the most consequential of 2017 to date as the team went to Lexington to face Washington & Lee for sole possession of first place in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. The Yellow Jackets beat W&L in five sets and as a result of her efforts in the match with the Generals, sophomore Miranda Hall (Mechanicsville, Va. / Hanover) garnered her second ODAC Player of the Week honor.

    Facing a fight for first place in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, the Randolph-Macon women’s volleyball team pushed ahead in the fifth set to beat Washington & Lee. R-MC is now 7-0 in the conference in 2017 and moves to 15-4 overall. W&L falls to 14-6 and 6-1 in the conference.
  • Three Yellow Jackets Kill Double Digits, But R-MC Loses To #12 Juniata
    October 06, 2017
    Three Yellow Jackets hit double-digit kills and R-MC took the #12 Juniata Eagles to five sets, but R-MC could not find the needed points for the win and tallied the program’s first lost since September 9 and ended the Yellow Jackets’ ten game win streak. The team dropped to 14-4 on the season.
  • Second Half of Season Begins With a Win for Volleyball

    Randolph-Macon women’s volleyball began October with a victory over Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opponent Hollins University 3-0. It’s the Yellow Jackets’ tenth win in a row as the team now sits at 14-3 and 6-0 in the conference.
