Allison Hess has joined the Yellow Jackets' Women's Lacrossestaff as an assistant coach in August of 2011. Hess is a 2010graduate of the University of Mary Washington where she was a threeyear starter on defense for the Eagles after transferring fromDivision I LaSalle College following her freshman year.

"Allison is a great fit for our program," said head coachCaitlin Moore. "Her experiences as a coach for the English LacrosseAssociation and as a player on a nationally ranked team will adddepth to our program. She possesses an outstanding work ethic andhas a keen understanding of the game; very excited for Allison tobegin."

During her time at UMW, Hess played in all 62 games, with 58starts at low defender for the Eagles. She was a member of the 2009and 2010 NCAA Tournament teams at Mary Washington and helped theprogram to 38 wins during her three years in Fredericksburg.

Following her graduation, Hess spent a year in the EnglishLacrosse Program where she taught at St. George's VA. During hertime in the program, Hess helped expose her students to the game oflacrosse by teaching 13 lessons a week and coaching multiple teams.She also helped develop a lacrosse outreach program for variousprimary schools in the area.

Hess graduated UMW with a degree in mathematics and is currentlypursuing her secondary education certificate.
