Biography
Kirsten Richter entersher fifth season at Randolph-Macon in 2010-11.
Richter has been instrumental inhelping R-MC to 89 wins during her time in Ashland, which includesa 67-13 mark against ODAC foes. Richter has been on thesidelines for the Yellow Jackets ODAC Championships in 2007 and2009 as well as the program’s trips to the NCAA Tournament inboth those seasons.
At R-MC, Richter is involved in allfacets of the program with primary responsibilities in recruiting,scouting, and
player development.
Richter came to R-MC after spending the previous three seasons asan assistant coach at her alma-mater Franklin & MarshallCollege in Lancaster, PA. As a member of the Diplomats staff, Richter was involved in all phases of the basketball programincluding in-game strategy, recruiting, and conditioning.
During her stint with theDiplomats, Richter also contributed to on-court development thatled to her players earning Centennial Conference Player-of-the-Yearhonors on two occasions and four all-conference team choices in herthree seasons.
"Kirsten has been a great additionto our staff at this point in the program," said LaHaye. "We willcertainly value the experience she has and will take full advantageof it."
Richter earned her B.A. ingovernment with a minor in public policy from F&M in 2003. Shewent on to receive her M.Ed. in sport management from MillersvilleUniversity in 2006.
For her performance in theclassroom, Richter was the recipient of the Sport ManagementGraduate Faculty Award for academic excellence. Richter is agraduate of the NCAA Women Coaches Academy (San Antonio, 2005) andis an active member of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association(WBCA).
