As a freshman (2016): Haines played an important role for the Yellow Jackets in his first year... He played the year at the number three role and posted a 12-5 record in singles... He defeated Hampden-Syndey's Harrison Stone, 7-6, 6-2... In doubles, Haines played at the number three role with Pablo Bordas... They posted a 10-7 record, with a victory in the ODAC quarterfinals over Roanoke 8-5, that saw the Yellow Jackets win 5-4.

Personal: Graduated from West Springfield High School with four varsity letters in tennis...Haines was named an All-District singles player his sophomore season before reaching the semifinals of the District Doubles Tournament and leading the Spartans to a quarterfinal appearance in the Regional Championship his junior season...In his senior season, Haines represented West Springfield in the singles and doubles district tournaments...In the classroom, Haines was an honor roll student throughout high school and an AP Scholar his junior and senior years.
