KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Randolph-Macon sophomore Penny Senior (Kingston, Jamaica/Meadowbrook) has been honored with a selection to the All-South Atlantic Third Team. The United Soccer Coaches announced the All-Region teams Monday afternoon.
Senior is the first Yellow Jacket honored with an All-Region selection since 2017. In that season, graduates Bryan Lutz and Jacob McHugh as well as senior Anthony Astruc (Glen Allen, Va./Benedictine) – who was then a sophomore – were named to the same Third Team that Senior has been chosen to this year.
Senior was also named to the All-ODAC Second Team for his work this season. Senior was the fifth-leading scorer in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference this season, and was the top scorer on the team as well, collecting nine goals in total. He led the team with 21 points after grabbing three assists to go with his high-water mark for scoring. Senior served as a transformative force in the attacking third, using speed and agility to keep defenses on their toes, while also driving the R-MC offense to nine victories this year.
Randolph-Macon recently wrapped up a 9-8 season, including 5-3 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. The finish earned them the number five seed in the ODAC Tournament. The past four seasons have been marked by the Yellow Jackets earning the most ODAC wins across a similar four-year period since 2000. The team has collected 40 wins across the same time frame, which is more than any other four-year period since the mid-2000's as well.
