Title: Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
Shawn Boggs is in his fifth season as a Randolph-Macon Basketball assistant coach.
Boggs helped the Yellow Jackets go 27-4 overall this past season. R-MC earned the right to host a pair of NCAA Tournament contests. The Yellow Jackets won those two games and advanced to the Sweet Sixteen. R-MC went 15-1 in ODAC contests, claiming its third straight regular season title. The Yellow Jackets went 12-0 at home in Crenshaw Gym. Sophomore guard Buzz Anthony was named All-America Second Team.
Over the past three seasons, Boggs has helped the Yellow Jackets win three consecutive ODAC regular-season titles.
Prior to R-MC, Boggs coached at the high school level. He has been an assistant coch in the Richmond ares at Tucker Hogh School, Hermitage High School and St. Christopher school.
He and head coach Josh Merkel coached on the same staff in 2006-07 at Eastern Kentucky, helping take that team to the NCAA Tournament for a first-round game at UNC.
Boggs played at J.R. Tucker High School and Virginia Intermont College. He currently is a training specialist with Hanover Community Services.
