Midulla, Moore Make R-MC Victors at E&H

EMORY, Va. – Freshman Grayson Midulla (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) scored a career-high 22 points and senior Lamont Moore (Waverly, Va./Tidewater Academy) matched that number as the Randolph-Macon men's basketball team recorded an 84-67 victory at Emory & Henry in ODAC action Saturday afternoon.

The Yellow Jackets (10-8, 6-3 ODAC) have won three straight and eight of their past 10 contests.

Midulla made 8 of 11 field goal attempts and was 5 for 6 on three-pointers. Moore went 8 for 12 from the floor, hit a pair of treys and sank four free throws. Moore also had eight rebounds and five assists.

R-MC would not trail in the contest. Junior Jamie Wilson (West Point, Va./West Point) hit a jumper and a three-pointer as the Yellow Jackets jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead two minutes into the contest. The Wasps (10-9, 5-5 ODAC) cut the deficit to three at 8-5 before a 12-3 spurt gave the visitors a 20-8 lead with 12:20 left in the first half. E&H trailed 32-23 before a pair of free throws by junior Boris Ngundji (Richmond, Va./Fuqua) gave R-MC a 41-25 advantage with 45 seconds remaining before the Yellow Jackets took a 41-27 lead to the locker room at the break. Moore had nine first-half points, while Wilson, Midulla and sophomore Daniel Noe (Fairfax, Va./Bishop Ireton) each added eight points.

E&H started the second half on a 17-6, pulling within three at 47-44 with 13:15 left. Midulla and Moore converted consecutive three-point plays to push the lead back to nine at 53-44 with 12:30 remaining. The Yellow Jackets were up 65-56 before a pair of Midulla three-pointers sparked a 17-7 run that gave R-MC its largest lead at 82-63 with 2:25 left. The Yellow Jackets would go on to post the 84-67 win.

Noe finished with 14 points, seven rebounds and three assists, while Wilson added 12 points and three assists. R-MC shot 54.4% from the floor, while holding E&H to 42.0%.

Randolph-Macon returns to action on Wednesday, Feb. 3, at home against Bridgewater at 7 p.m.
