ASHLAND, Va. - Junior Michael Taylor (Apex, N.C./Grace Christian) scored a career-high 24 and sophomore Daniel Noe (Fairfax, Va./Bishop Ireton) recorded his first career double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds as the Randolph-Macon men's basketball team routed Virginia Wesleyan 88-59 Wednesday evening in ODAC action in Crenshaw Gymnasium.

Taylor went 7 for 11 from the floor, hit a trey and sank 9 of 10 free throws. Taylor also had four rebounds, three assists and one steal for the Yellow Jackets (9-8, 5-3 ODAC)..

Noe was 8 for 14 from the floor and 3 for 6 beyond the arc. All 12 of his boards were on the defensive end. His 19 points and 12 rebounds were both career highs.

Taylor hit a trey to start the scoring before the Marlins (12-6, 7-2 ODAC) used a 14-6 run to take a 14-9 advantage with 15:20 left in the period. R-MC put together a 16-5 spurt to take a 25-19 lead with 7:40 left in the half. The lead grew to nine at 35-26 with three minutes remaining before the Yellow Jackets took a 38-32 lead to the locker room at the break. Taylor had 11 points in the first period and Noe posted six points and five rebounds.

R-MC held VWC scoreless for the first 4:30 of the second half, using an 8-0 run to take a 47-32 lead. The run extended to 18-4 over the first seven minutes of the half as the advantage ballooned to 20 at 56-36. The lead grew to 31 at 88-57 with 1:30 left before the final finished 88-59.

The Yellow Jackets matched their season high for points with 88 and held their opponent to its lowest point total at 59. R-MC shot 58.9% (33-56) from the floor, its top mark of the season. The Marlins shot just 40% (22-55) from the floor. R-MC also held a 36-31 advantage on the boards and committed just eight turnovers, compared to 12 for VWC.

Freshman Montese Adams (Richmond, Va./Fuqua) scored a season-high 12 points. He also pulled down eight rebounds. Senior Lamont Moore (Waverly, Va./Tidewater Academy) had nine points and three assists. Junior Jamie Wilson (West Point, Va./West Point) had six points and five assists. Freshman Grayson Midulla (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) hit a pair of treys for six points and dished out four assists.

Kaelin Poe led the Marlins with 13 points.

Randolph-Macon hits the road for a 2 p.m. ODAC road contest at Emory & Henry on Saturday, Jan. 30.
