We're looking for talented, hard working men and women who want to be a part of something great! Show off your love of dance, help your community and make life time friendships all while supporting our top ranked Yellow Jacket athletic teams! Yes – men are welcome to try out for dance team too – provided you've got the skills J.

 

Tryout Selections Consist of: (some below information may be modified for male candidates)

 

Technical Skills: Turns (Double, Triple) pirhouette, split leap, switch leap, center leap, switch center leap, fouette

turns, and toe touch jump; high kicks

Pom Segment: to be taught the day of the tryout

Hip Hop Segment: to be taught the day of the tryout

Sideline Cheers: to be taught the day of the tryout

Fight Song Routine: to be taught the day of the tryout

These segments will be taught, perfected and performed for the tryout

 

Dress Code: Shorts (Black or Navy) or Dance Pants (Black), tennis shoes or jazz shoes, tank top or t-shirt (white). No Half Tops/Sports Bras worn alone!

Hair and Make-up should be worn appropriate for game day

 

*Please be advised, if you are unable to attend due to a personal conflict or long-distance travel, a tryout recording (via thumb/zip drive, file attachment to email or DVD) will be accepted and should be submitted and received prior to April 25, 2019. The recording should include you performing all technical skills mentioned above plus the pom and hip hop segments to be no shorter than 4 eight counts and no longer than 8 eight counts each. You will not be responsible for the Fight Song routine. Please attempt to learn or perform at least two sidelines (aka "chants" – short cheers that are repeated 2-3 times).

 

A group email announcing the new 2019-2020 team members by candidate number will be emailed later in the evening on April 14 so be sure you have provided a legible email address when you sign in. An additional email will be sent only to those candidates who have made the team with further information regarding the new season (fee dates, uniform distribution, schedule, etc).
