FOREST, Va. - The Randolph-Macon men's soccer team had two members receive Old Dominion Athletic Conference postseason awards. Senior midfielder
Grayson Woods (Charlotte, N.C./Myers Park) and junior defender
Damien Jackson (Newport News, Va./Menchville) were tabbed All-ODAC third team.
Woods earned all-conference honors for the first time in his career. This season for the Yellow Jackets, he logged 1,161 minutes across 15 games, starting in all 15. Woods ended the season ranked fifth in points (15), sixth in the conference for goals (six) and 10th in game-winning goals (two). Earlier in the season, he was also named an ODAC Offensive Player of the Week. Woods was a key contributor on corner kicks this season and his work in the midfield consistently elevated the offense.Â
Jackson was a key piece of the Yellow Jackets' backline this season. He started and played in 18 games, logging 1,570 minutes. He was a part of a defensive line that recorded seven shutouts this season, while adding one goal and four assists on the offensive side of the field. Jackson finished the season setting career-highs in points (six), assists (four) and goals (one). This is the first time he has earned an all-conference award.
After
Josh Laux's 11th year at the helm, the Yellow Jackets finished with a record of 8-6-4 overall and 2-4-3 in conference contests. The Yellow Jackets started the season 5-1-1 for the second consecutive year. RMC also grabbed its first win against Virginia Wesleyan since 2021.
