ASHLAND, Va. – The Randolph-Macon Volleyball programs have announced summer 2018 camp dates and information for interested young players. It is the first year that R-MC will host boys specific camps as part of its summer volleyball programs.
The summer camp season will kick off with boys and girls beginner and intermediate camps July 11-13. The Beginner - Intermediate Camp is designed for Middle and High School students to improve the fundamental skills of volleyball: serving, passing, setting, attacking, blocking, and defense. Campers will be assessed on the opening day and placed into groups of similar ability. Several competitions will be held during the afternoon sessions. Players will gain knowledge about all basic skills while also learning the fundamentals of the game.
Camps will continue on July 13-15 with a girls advanced camp. This camp will also emphasize game play and advanced game strategy. Advanced campers are expected to have experience playing high school and club volleyball as much of the camp will be focused on game play, not basic rules and skills.
For boys, a college ID Camp will take place on July 13-15 as well. The College ID camp is designed to prepare players who are considering playing volleyball in college. Campers will participate in competitive drills and game play modeled after college practices.
