FOREST, Va. – With three seasons of undefeated conference play under their belts – regular season or conference tournaments – Randolph-Macon women's volleyball heads into the ODAC Tournament as the #1 seed as announced by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Friday evening. The team will take on the #8 seed, Eastern Mennonite, on Wednesday, November 1 at 7:00 PM.
2017 is the fourth straight year Randolph-Macon has claimed the regular season championship. R-MC also claimed the conference tournament championship in 2015 and 2016. The team made NCAA tournament appearances in both years as well, making it to the NCAA Elite 8 at Grand Rapids, Mich. in 2015.
Randolph-Macon defeated its first-round opponent EMU 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-14) earlier this season on September 21. R-MC had excellent hitting in that match, hitting .364 in set one and .737 in set three.
As the #1 seed, R-MC is in line to host the semifinal and championship rounds at Crenshaw Gymnasium with a quarterfinal win as well. Those matches would be on Friday and Saturday respectively.
