Dantzler Wins Twice for R-MC Women’s Tennis at SMC

ST. MARY'S, Md. – Sophomore Kristin Dantzler (Williamsburg, Va./York) earned victories in both doubles and singles as the Randolph-Macon women's tennis team dropped a narrow 5-4 decision at St. Mary's on Sunday afternoon.

Dantzler teamed with junior Stephanie Yeager (Fairfax, Va./Robinson) to win 9-7 at No. 1 Doubles for the Yellow Jackets (1-1). The Seahawks would pull out close 8-6 victories in No. 2 and No. 3 Doubles to take a 2-1 lead.

At No. 3 Singles, Dantzler delivered a dominating 6-0, 6-0 decision. Sophomore Landon Aud (Fishersville, Va./Wilson Memorial) won 6-1, 7-5 at No. 4 Singles. Freshman Isabel Wadsworth (Lake Wales, Fla./Lake Wales) took a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 6 Singles. SMC earned straight-set wins at No. 1 and No. 2 Singles, then pulled out a three-set win at No. 5 Singles to secure the match.

Randolph-Macon returns to action on Tuesday, March 6, with a 2 p.m. home match against Pfeiffer at the Banks Tennis Center.
