ASHLAND, Va. – The R-MC men’s and women’s tennis teams participated in community service on Thursday morning. The teams worked with the Community Connection Club at the Banks Tennis Center.
The program is an opportunity for adults with intellectual disabilities to get a chance to socialize. Players from both the men’s and women’s teams came out to play tennis with the participants. Members of the teams fed balls to the participants and taught them tennis strokes.
Community Connection Club is run through the Duncan Memorial Church in Ashland. The team has been working with the program for several years.
R-MC tennis will be in action tomorrow with a home match against Emory & Henry at 2 p.m.
