Gray Named ODAC Women's Tennis Coach of the Year, 5 Yellow Jackets Recognized

FOREST, Va. – Director of R-MC Tennis, Charles Gray, was named the ODAC Coach of the Year in women’s tennis by his fellow coaches on Tuesday. Gray joins four R-MC singles players and two doubles teams in receiving awards by the conference.

Gray led the Jackets to their second consecutive ODAC Championship Title match in the past two seasons. R-MC finished the season with an impressive 17-3 overall record, a 10-1 ODAC record, a second place finish and ranking of 18 in the Atlantic Region.

Being named to the first team All-Conference was sophomore Gaby Tersigini (Yorktown, Va./ York). Tersigini had an overall record of 17-3 in singles and a 10-1 ODAC record.

Seniors Melissa Tomlin (Prince George, Va./ Prince George), Molly Jesseman (Williamsburg, Va./ Warhill) and Toni McDonald (Richmond, Va./ Varina) were named to the All-ODAC Second Team for singles.

Tomlin had a 10-1 ODAC record at #3 singles, Jesseman had a 9-1 record at #5 and McDonald compiled a 9-1 record at number six singles.

Senior Caitlin Delmas (Asheville, Va./ K-12 International Academy) and partner McDonald were named to the All-ODAC Second Team for #1 doubles. Delmas and McDonald had a 7-4 ODAC record.

Also being recognized in doubles was freshman Landon Aud (Fishersville, Va./ Wilson Memorial) and sophomore Stephanie Yeager (Fairfax, Va./ W.T. Woodson). The pair were named to the All-ODAC Second Team for their performance at #3 doubles. The duo completed the ODAC season with an 8-3 record.
