R-MC Women's Tennis Falls to #11 Washington and Lee

LEXINGTON, Va. – The R-MC women's tennis team fell to #11 Washington and Lee 9-0 on Tuesday afternoon. Both teams were undefeated in ODAC play heading into the match. 

The Yellow Jackets pick up their first ODAC lost of the season and fall to 11-2 and 6-1 in conference play. W&L improves to 15-3 and 11-0 in the ODAC.

In doubles, freshman Landon Aud (Fishersville, Va./ Wilson Memorial) and sophomore Stephanie Yeager (Fairfax, Va./ Robinson Secondary) played the closest match for R-MC, falling 8-4 to Maddie Hutchins and Gabby Moore. 

In singles play, senior Melissa Tomlin (Prince George, Va./ Prince George) dropped her first singles match of the season, falling to the Generals number three player, 6-2, 6-0.

Freshman Kristin Dantzler (Williamsburg, Va./ York) took the most games off of a Washington and Lee player losing 6-2, 6-1.

R-MC will be back in action on Saturday, April 8 for a home ODAC match against Randolph at 1 p.m. at the Banks Tennis Center.
