R-MC Women's Tennis Remains Undefeated in ODAC Play vs. SU

ASHLAND, Va. – The #17 regionally ranked R-MC women's tennis team earned its sixth ODAC victory with a 9-0 sweep of Shenandoah on Sunday afternoon.

The Yellow Jackets improve to 11-1 for the season and 6-0 in the ODAC.

At number one doubles, the pair of seniors Caitlin Delmas (Asheville, N.C./ K-12 International Academy) and Toni McDonald (Richmond, Va./ Varina) won 8-4.

Freshman Landon Aud (Fishersville, Va./ Wilson Memorial) and sophomore Stephanie Yeager (Fairfax, Va./ Robinson Secondary) and the senior duo of Melissa Tomlin (Prince George, Va./ Prince George) and Molly Jesseman (Williamsburg, Va./ Warhill) both won at #3 and #2 double.

Delmas picked up her second victory of the day winning at the #1 flight in singles. She beat Morgan Fuqua 7-5, 6-4.

Three other players won their second matches of the day for the Yellow Jackets. Tomlin won at #3 6-1, 6-0, Jesseman won at #5 6-0, 6-0 and McDonald won at #6 with a 6-0, 6-0 score.

Picking up the other two wins for R-MC in singles was sophomore Gaby Tersingi (Yorktown, Va./ York) at the number two spot, winning 6-3, 6-1 and freshman Kristin Dantzler (Williamsburg, Va./ York) who won without losing a game, 6-0, 6-0.

R-MC will be back in action on Tuesday, April 4th for a road ODAC match against first place Washington and Lee.
