FOREST, Va. - Randolph-Macon freshman Kacey Pool (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch) has been named ODAC Women's Swimmer of the Week for contributing to first-place finishes in three events this past Saturday in a dual meet against York.
Pool is the first Yellow Jacket to be selected ODAC Women's Swimmer of the Week this season.
In the meet's first event against York, Pool teamed with freshman Lauren McCoy (Dagsboro, Del./Indian River), freshman Laney Sanchez (Midlothian, Va./Clover Hill) and sophomore Haylie Moore (Lexington, N.C./South Davidson) to win the 400 Medley Relay in 4:20.51.
During individual events, Pool won the 200 Back in 2:16.44. Her winning time was nearly three seconds faster than the second-place finisher.
In the final event of the meet, Pool swam with McCoy, sophomore Kata Kylliainen (Towson, Md./Loch Raven) and junior Megan Granger (Midlothian, Va./Manchester) in finishing first in the 200 Free Relay in 1:43.69.
Randolph-Macon returns to action after the first of the year, travelling to Howard on Friday, Jan. 13, for a 6 p.m. meet.
