Sanchez Helps R-MC Take Second at ODAC Swim Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Freshman Laney Sanchez (Midlothian, Va./Clover Hill) contribute to a pair of third-place event finishes as the Randolph-Macon women's swimming team finished second at the 2017 ODAC Swimming Championships.

Sanchez finished third in the 200 Breast in 2:29.69, a top time for the Yellow Jackets this season. She teamed with senior Sierra Collins (Ronda, N.C./Salem Academy), junior Megan Granger (Midlothian, Va./Manchester) and freshman Kacey Pool (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch) to place third in the 400 Medley Relay in 3:44.97.

Sophomore Lindsei Hamilton (Roanoke, Va./Hidden Valley) took third in the 1650 Free in 18:21.21. Junior Savannah Pierce (Virginia Beach, Va./Princess Anne) finished fifth in 18:51.67.

Pool placed fifth in the 200 Back in 2:11.15, a top time for the Yellow Jackets this season.

Granger took seventh in the 100 Free in 56.06, a top time for R-MC this season.

Freshman Zoe Campbell (Annandale, Va./W.T. Woodson) finished seventh in the 200 Fly in 2:13.71, a top time for the Yellow Jackets this season. Hamilton was eighth in 2:16.36.

Senior Leah Chatnik (Schenectady, N.Y./Guilderland) was eighth in the 200 Breast in 2:39.69.
