Granger, McCoy Lead Second-Place R-MC on Day 1 of ODAC Swim Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Junior Megan Granger (Midlothian, Va./Manchester) and freshman Lauren McCoy (Dagsboro, Del./Indian River) both swam on a pair of third-place relay teams as the Randolph-Macon women's swimming team sat in second after the first day of the 2017 ODAC Swimming Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

In the day's first event, Granger and McCoy teamed with senior Sierra Collins (Ronda, N.C./Salem Academy) and freshman Kacey Pool (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch) to place third in the 200 Free Relay in 1:41.84.

In the final event of the day, Granger and McCoy swam with sophomore Lindsei Hamilton (Roanoke, Va./Hidden Valley) and freshman Laney Sanchez (Midlothian, Va./Clover Hill) to finish third in the 400 Medley Relay in 4:06.52.

Sanchez was fifth in the 200 IM in 2:13.53, a top time for the Yellow Jackets this season.

Hamilton was sixth in the 500 Free in 5:16.94.

Pool placed eighth in the 50 Free in 25.63.

Day 2 of the 2017 ODAC Swimming Championships will take place on Saturday, with preliminaries starting at 10 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m.
