Sanchez Secures Four Firsts as R-MC Women's Swimming Snags Two Wins

ASHLAND, Va. - Freshman Laney Sanchez (Midlothian, Va./Clover Hill) earned four firsts as the Randolph-Macon women's swimming team took a pair of victories on Saturday afternoon in the Brock Center Poll.

The Yellow Jackets topped Greensboro 177-22 and beat Ferrum 175-44.

Sanchez won the 100 Breast in 1:12.22. She took first in the 100 Free in 57.32. Sanchez placed first in the 100 Fly in 1:06.64. She teamed with junior Savannah Pierce (Virginia Beach, Va./Princess Anne), junior Anne Woodfin (Williamsburg, Va./Warhill) and freshman Lauren McCoy (Dagsboro, Del./Indian River) to win the 200 Free Relay in 1:49.33.

Freshman Kacey Pool (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch) placed first in the 1000 Free in 11:13.06. She won the 200 Back in 2:23.01. Pool placed second in the 50 Free in 26.92.

Freshman Abbey Crank (North Chesterfield, Va./James River) finished first in the 50 Free in 26.65. She won the 200 Breast in 2:36.85. Crank was second in the 200 Free in 2:07.99.

Sophomore Lindsei Hamilton (Roanoke, Va./Hidden Valley) won the 200 Fly in 2:20.85. She captured the 200 IM in 2:29.46.

Junior Megan Granger (Midlothian, Va./Manchester) was victorious in the 200 Free in 2:05.20. She was second in the 100 Free in 57.32.

McCoy captured the 100 Back in 1:04.27. She was third in the 100 Free in 58.66.

Sophomore Haylie Moore (Lexington, N.C./South Davidson) won the 500 Free in 5:44.71. She took second in the 100 Fly in 1:07.33.

Randolph-Macon will compete in the ODAC Championships Feb. 10-12 in Greensboro, N.C.
