ASHLAND, Va. - Freshman Kacey Pool (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch) contributed to three firsts and sophomore Kata Kylliainen (Towson, Md./Loch Raven) had a pair of firsts and a second as the Randolph-Macon women's swimming team dropped a 123-82 decision to York on Saturday afternoon.
Pool placed first in the 200 Back in 2:16.44. She teamed with freshman Lauren McCoy (Dagsboro, Del./Indian River), freshman Laney Sanchez (Midlothian, Va./Clover Hill) and sophomore Haylie Moore (Lexington, N.C./South Davidson) to win the meet's first event, the 400 Medley Relay, in 4:20.51. Pool combined with Kylliainen, McCoy and junior Megan Granger (Midlothian, Va./Manchester) to finish first in the 200 Free Relay in 1:43.69.
Kylliainen won the 1000 Free in 10:56.31, a top time for the Yellow Jackets this season. She was second in the 500 Free in 5:25.66.
Granger took second in the 50 Free in 26.24. She was third in the 100 Free in 57.37.
Freshman Abbey Crank (North Chesterfield, Va./James River) finished second in the 200 Breast in 2:44.93. She was third in the 200 IM in 2:25.18. Crank took fifth in the 200 Free in 2:09.05.
Sanchez placed second in the 200 Free in 2:03.20.
Sophomore Lindsei Hamilton (Roanoke, Va./Hidden Valley) was second in the 200 Fly in 2:24.31. She took third in the 1000 Free in 11:50.02.
The Yellow Jackets return to the poll on Friday, Jan 13 at 6 p.m. at Howard.
