R-MC Women's Soccer Falls to DC in Overtime

ASHLAND, Va. - Dickinson scored on a corner kick with 45 seconds left in the first overtime period as the Randolph-Macon women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision Sunday afternoon on Day Field.

The Yellow Jackets (0-1-1) lost possession late in the first overtime, giving the Red Devils (2-0-0) a corner kick. Olivia Termini headed the ball in to give the visitors the victory.

DC outshot R-MC 12-8. Freshman Casey Kent (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) led the Yellow Jackets with six shots, while junior Mary Virginia Kelley (Midlothian, Va./James River) recorded the other two shots.

Sophomore Christina Newman (Virginia Beach, Va./Kempsville) had four saves for the Yellow Jackets, with three in the second half and one in overtime.

Randolph-Macon returns to action this weekend in the DC Classic in our nation's capital. The Yellow Jackets will face Penn State Harrisburg on Friday, Sept. 9 at 12 noon before meeting host Catholic on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 2:30 p.m..
