Jamieson Scores Three as R-MC Falls at UMW

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Sophomore Shannon Jamieson (Dypress, Texas/Cypress-Woods) scored three goals as Randolph-Macon dropped a 17-10 decision Wednesday at Mary Washington.

The teams stayed with one goal of each other throughout the first half. Freshman Susie Snee (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) scored with five minutes remaining in the period to give the Yellow Jackets (5-4) a 6-5 lead. The Eagles (7-2) scored the final two goals of the half to take a 7-6 lead at intermission.

Mary Washington tallied the first two goals of the second stanza as the home team took a 9-6 advantage. Jamieson scored the next two goals to pull R-MC within one at 9-8 with 24 minutes remaining. The Eagles scored eight of the final 10 goals to secure the game.

Sophomore Jenelle Whitman (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) scored twice, while sophomore Katie Russo (Cockeysville, Md./Dulaney) had one goal and two assists for the Yellow Jackets.

Randolph-Macon returns to the field on Sunday, March 30 in a 1 p.m. ODAC contest at Bridgewater.
