ASHLAND, VA – Eight different Yellow Jackets scored as Randolph-Macon topped Chowan, 16-1, Saturday afternoon in women's lacrosse action.
For the Yellow Jackets, Emily Lynch had four goals, while Kim Wright and Natalie Schnell each earned a hat trick in the victory. Five other Yellow Jackets chipped in to score for Randolph- Macon, with Jackie Martin collecting two goals.
Wright and Lynch each dished out a pair of assists, while Rachel Johnsen had six draw controls for the Jackets.
Wright scored just 21 seconds into the game and proved to be the first of 11 unanswered goals in the first 23 minutes of action for R-MC.
Alicia McGrew and Lynch would open up the second-half scoring to put R-MC up 13-0. Chowan got on the board on a Canesha Bradford goal with 13:43 to play in the game.
R-MC tallied three goals to close the half as it notched its first win of the 2013 season.
R-MC outshot CU (0-3) 20-0 in the first-half and 27-6 for the game. Nicole Woodworth made four stops in net for Randolph-Macon, while Haley Haggard made six stops for CU.
Randolph-Macon returns to action March 1st when it opens ODAC play at Sweet Briar. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
