The Randolph-Macon Women's Basketball program will mark its Play4Kay game tomorrow night against Lynchburg. Play4Kay is a movement across college basketball in honor of former North Carolina State head coach, Kay Yow. Many college basketball programs, teams and organizations have contributed by raising money for cancer research throughout the season at dedicated games to help defeat all types cancers. The teams of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference have proudly been a part of this effort this season.
The Randolph-Macon Women's Basketball is specifically dedicating tomorrow's game to ReeseStrong. The ReeseStrong Foundation is a locally-based all-volunteer organization, dedicated to helping families stay strong in the battle against childhood cancer. The foundation is inspired by its namesake Julia 'Reese' Klauer who was diagnosed with a brain tumor in January 2009. R-MC is dedicating its game to ReeseStrong after having been paired with Reese Klauer through the Friends of Jaclyn program. The team will be accepting donations tomorrow prior to the start of the game vs Lynchburg College at 7:00 PM. All proceeds will go to ReeseStrong.
The team thanks you for your contributions to this important endeavor. The team will also be wearing gold shoelaces indicating their support for childhood cancer, as well as pink socks for Reese.
