Candace Whittemore Named to All-ODAC Second Team

FOREST, Va. – Sophomore pitcher Candace Whittemore (Montpelier, Va./ Patrick Henry) was named to the All-ODAC Second Team by the ODAC coaches.

All-ODAC awards are nominated and voted on by the ODAC coaches.

Whittemore currently has 21 wins, the second most in the ODAC. She has compiled an impressive 21-4 record, with four saves. She has thrown 122 strikeouts this season in 165.1 innings pitched for a 1.52 ERA.

Whittemore has thrown six shutouts this season. She threw a one-hitter in the 7-0 win over Mary Washington on March 30th. She was one inning away from a perfect game for R-MC.

The Yellow Jackets have had a historic season so far, finishing second in the ODAC, and currently have a 33-9 record, which is the second most wins in program history.

R-MC and Whittemore went 2-2 in the ODAC Tournament and finished in third place. The Yellow Jackets will have to wait to May 8 to see if the team will receive an at-large bid from the NCAA.
