R-MC Softball Moves Up to #18 in NFCA Poll

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The R-MC softball moved up to #18 in the latest NFCA DIII Poll on Wednesday morning. R-MC was ranked #20 last week and went 4-0 with four ODAC victories.

R-MC are now 27-7 this season, with a 10-6 ODAC record.

The Yellow Jackets started the week with a sweep of Sweet Briar. R-MC won game won 10-0 then won the second game 26-0. R-MC recorded 35 hits between the two games.

Then, R-MC swept Shenandoah at home. The Yellow Jackets won game one 3-1. In game two, R-MC trailed 5-1 in the bottom of the seventh inning and scored four runs to force extra innings. Junior Brandi Mulvena (Farnham, Va./ Rappahannock) hit the game winning sacrifice fly to send senior Jen Balcom (Powhatan, Va./ Powhatan) to home for the winning run.

R-MC will be back in action with the final two double-headers of the season. R-MC will play at Bridgewater on Thursday and then finish the regular season with a home double-header against Roanoke on Saturday. Game one will start at 1:30 p.m.
