FOREST, Va. – The R-MC men's tennis team will be looking for success as the team heads into the 2017 ODAC Tennis Championships.
R-MC (8-7, 6-4 ODAC) finished in fourth place in the ODAC. Randolph-Macon finished in a three-way tie with Hampden-Sydney and Randolph for fourth, as the teams all had 6-4 ODAC records. All three teams finished with a 1-1 record against the other two schools, meaning the tiebreaker was decided by predetermined lots selected by the ODAC Board of Directors. With that, Randolph-Macon earns the #4 seed, but will have to travel to play #5 Hampden-Sydney on Tuesday.
R-MC and H-SC met on Friday and played out a five-hour match, with the Tigers coming out on top 5-4. R-MC will travel to Farmville on Tuesday for the quarterfinal match.
Randolph-Macon are pleased to announce that the school will host the ODAC Tennis Championships at the Banks Tennis Center May 6-7.
The complex includes ten playing courts with four courts lighted at night, stadium seating, a restroom facility, a gazebo and benches. The facility has received numerous national awards for excellence. R-MC previously hosted the ODAC Tennis Tournament in 2012.
