Redenz Sets ODAC Record in 100 Breast on Day 2 of ODAC Swim Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Senior Robert Redenz (Moseley, Va./Cosby) set an ODAC record in the 100 Breast Saturday evening on Day 2 of the 2017 ODAC Swimming Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

The Yellow Jackets are third in the team standings.

Redenz posted a time of 57.11 in the 100 Breast, breaking his own record of 57.54 during the 2016 ODAC Championships.

Redenz teamed with juniors Ivan Fadeyev (Manassas, Va./Osbourn Park), Bryan McCarthy (Chester, Va./Thomas Dale) and Ealon Mann (Spartanburg, S.C./Spartanburg) to finish second in the 200 Medley Relay in1:35.57.

Mann finished fourth in the 100 Fly in 52.15, a top time for the Yellow Jackets this season. McCarthy was fifth in the 100 Fly in 52.36.

Senior Josh Carter (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee) was fourth in the 100 Breast in 59.97, while junior Alex Daube (Hampton, Va./Hampton) was fifth in the 100 Breast in 1:00.63.

Sophomore Connor Seif (Trent Woods, N.C./New Bern) placed fourth in the 100 Back in 58.44).

Fadeyev was fifth in the 400 IM in 4:12.75, a top time for R-MC this season.

Freshman Matt Howard (Fredericksburg, Va./James Monroe) was eighth in the 200 Free in 1:48.10.

The third and final day of the ODAC Swimming Championships will be held on Sunday, Feb. 12.
