R-MC Men's Lacrosse Picked Sixth in Preseason Poll

FOREST, Va. –  The ODAC released the 2017 men's lacrosse preseason poll, voted on by the ODAC coaches. The Randolph-Macon Yellow Jackets were voted to sixth place with 40 points.

In first place was voted Roanoke with 76 points, followed by W&L, Lynchburg, Hampden-Sydney and Va. Wesleyan. Below R-MC were voted Guilford, Bridgewater, Randolph and Shenandoah.

R-MC finished the 2016 season with a 3-6 ODAC record and finished in seventh place.

Head coach J.B. Sheridan and assistant coach Michael Sullinger will be bringing in a very strong recruiting class with 18 freshmen on the roster.

Returning for R-MC will be the five seniors of Mitch Behl (Glen Allen, Va./ Deep Run), David Cryster (Mechanicsville, Va./ Hanover), Brian Davies (Lynchburg, Va./ E.C. Glass), Tim Leavitt (Davidson, Md./ Archbishop Spalding) and Sam Mayer (Severna Park, Md./ Severna Park).

Another returner is junior Coleman Adams (Mechanicsville, Va./ St. Christopher's) who was selected the 2016 All-ODAC Third Team. Last season he had 35 points with 15 goals and 20 assists.

On the other side of the field will be junior defender Kyle Geblein (Hagerstown, Md./ Smithsburg) who had 18 caused turnovers and 46 ground balls.

The Yellow Jackets open up the season with a road game against Mary Washington on February 15 at 3 p.m.
