Geblein and Mayer Named to All-ODAC Second Team

FOREST, Va. – Senior Sam Mayer (Severna Park, Md./ Severna Park) and junior Kyle Geblein (Hagerstown, Md./ Smithsburg) were named to the All-ODAC Second Team on Thursday.

Nominations were submitted and voted on by the ODAC coaches.

Mayer finished with a team high 54 points, including an ODAC second-best 44 assists. He compiled 10 goals, 34 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers this season. Mayer had a season best seven assists and one goal in the win over Randolph. In his four year career with the Yellow Jackets, Mayer has reached the 100 milestone in two categories. Mayer has recorded 113 points and 104 ground balls.

This season, Geblein lead the Yellow Jackets defense and caused a team high 21 turnovers. He has recorded 101 ground balls and 43 caused turnovers over his three years. Geblein has played in 52 games for R-MC, starting 42 of those.

Senior Brian Davies (Lynchburg, Va./ E.C. Glass) was named to the Ray Rostan Men’s Lacrosse Sportsmanship Team. Davies finished the season with 176 saves, which brought his career save total to an impressive 712. He was fourth in the ODAC with a 9.78 goals-against average.

R-MC had a successful 2017 season, finishing sixth in the ODAC and making the ODAC quarterfinals.
