Struhar Paces R-MC Men's Golf at TaylorMade Intercollegiate

BEAUFORT, S.C. - Randolph-Macon senior Kirby Struhar (Sterling, Va./Park View) was 26th out of 97 individuals late in the second round of the TaylorMade Intercollegiate at the Dataw Island Club, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan College.

Several teams had holes to finish to complete the second of the three-round event.

The Yellow Jackets were 10th out of 14 squads in the teams standings. There are three other ODAC teams participating. R-MC is tied with Virginia Wesleyan, is 24 strokes ahead of Shenandoah and three shots behind Lynchburg.

Struhar had three birdies and three pars on the first six holes and was one-under through the front nine before running into trouble on the final six holes. He carded two more birdies in Round 2 and has one hole to finish the round.

Senior Matt McDonagh (Winston-Salem, N.C./Mount Tabor) and junior Chase Childers (Issue, Md./La Plata) are both one shot behind Struhar at +17, followed by senior Peter Shaner (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge County) at +24 and sophomore Alex Nelson (Weems, Va./Lancaster) at +26. McDonagh had seven pars and two bogeys on the front nine in Round 1, and six pars and three bogeys on the front nine in Round 2. Childers had six pars and three bogeys on the back nine in Round 1.

Teams will finish Round 2 and play the third and final round on Tuesday, March 13.
