ASHLAND, Va. - Jennifer Payne has been named an assistant athletic trainer at Randolph-Macon College.
This past year, Payne was a seasonal athletic trainer at VMI, working with the men's soccer and baseball teams. She provided coverage for all practices and games, including traveling to away contests.
A native of Roseland, Va., Payne earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science from James Madison University in May, 2013.
Payne received a Master of Arts and Sciences degree in Athletic Training from Shenandoah University in May of 2016. She received the Outstanding Research Project Award and the James R. and Mary B. Wilkins Athletic Training Program Award. During grad school, Payne worked at Strasburg High School, assisting the athletic trainer in the assessment, treatment, management and prevention of injuries. In addition, she worked at Georgetown University and Bishop McNamara High School. Payne also worked with the women's basketball and softball teams at SU.
