Stanley Stops 21 Shots for R-MC Field Hockey at LC

LYNCHBURG, Va. - Senior Kelsey Stanley (Bumpass, Va./Louisa County) recorded 21 saves as the Randolph-Macon field hockey team dropped a 9-0 ODAC decision at Lynchburg on Saturday.

Stanley had eight saves in the first half and 13 in the second stanza for the Yellow Jackets (6-10, 4-2 ODAC). Stanley has 540 career saves, the fourth-highest total in program history and No. 9 in the history of the ODAC.

The Hornets (14-3, 5-1 ODAC) scored three times in the first half and six in the second half.

LC had a 37-5 advantage in shots, including 30-2 for shots on goal. Freshman Maria Teresa Ambrogi-Torres (Richmond, Va./Trinity) led the Yellow Jackets with three shots, including two on goal.

Randolph-Macon travels to St. Mary's on Monday, Oct. 23, for a 3:30 p.m. non-conference contest.
