R-MC Field Hockey Lose Tight Match to Wilson

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Randolph-Macon field hockey team lost 1-0 to Wilson College on Monday afternoon. R-MC were unable to find the back of the net, as Wilson scored late in the game to take the match.

R-MC led in shots 15-7 and forced the Wilson goalkeeper into 11 saves. Senior Katiee Nicholas (Virginia Beach, Va./ Tallwood) was tied for first on the team in shots with four and also led in shots on goal with three. Freshman Lauren Petty (Gloucester, Va./ Gloucester) also recorded four shots, with two on target.

Junior goalkeeper Kelsey Stanley (Bumpass, Va./ Louisa County) recorded four saves in the match.

Wilson scored the only goal of the game in the 55th minute from Payton Dziemburski scored from the left side of the penalty box.

R-MC will be back on the field on Wednesday, October 19th when it hosts Ferrum at 4 p.m. R-MC will also play at 7 p.m. on Friday versus Lynchburg as a part of Homecoming Weekend. That game will also be the Play4TheCure game.
